Last day of the year !

I'm still not feeling the new year, dunno why but I just don't feel it.... it feels like a normal weekend. Started the day by sending out food to my relatives (i'm the official messenger for today =P).

Saying my Happy New Year as cheerful as I could... to every person I meet. After lunch, I went to the Airport to fetch my Uncle and Auntie. They went to Disneyland with their kids and I hear it's great to go now... the money spent is well worth it.

I finally have Stefanie's latest album "A Perfect Day" (asked auntie to buy for me =D "Ta Bue") and it's hands down the greatest album from her yet. It's really nice (currently playing, play count : 10 =P) and there is no reason not to like any of the songs.

For Dinner, we went to my other Auntie's house. It has always been like that since I was a child and I can say its nice to get together once in a while. Food was great as always, especially when its shared with the whole family =D

Late night after fetching my sister from Podium, we had midnight snack with my Uncle and Auntie, then some other interesting facts about Disneyland again =D...

Finally the countdown to new year started. Started sending out my Happy new year. (It's good that my prepaid is currently on unlimited test message status for the next five days.)

HAPPY NEW YEAR !

Today is Tina's Birthday

Remembering I never got Achi Jack a gift for her birthday last November 23, 2005 because of my "manana habit", I prepared a gift in advance for my friend Tina. I got her a cute Hello Kitty "Ang Pao", with a gift certificate inside =P (not intel inside =P).

Days back, I was supposed to buy her one of those giant Hershey Kisses (bought one for my sister =D) but then I changed my mind for some reason(s) =D anyways, Happy Birthday Lulu !

Dinner with friends

I went out with some friends for an early dinner at Shanghai Bistro, the food was great and the price reasonable. We had singaporean fried rice, Sweet & Sour Pork (sidenote: this is my favorite food aside from noodles...=P), Beef Hofan, Hakaw, Sio Mai, Vegetables, Taro Puff (love this too), etc... ( i bet there were still other dishes just can't remember =P )

After the dinner, we moved on to SM Mall of Asia to watch the World Pyro Olypics... but we never got there in time due to the heavy traffic. Oh well, at least we had a glimpse of the few last fireworks... (you could get more information from the site I provided)

Maligayang pasko pinoy !

Today we had our company wide Christmas party at the World Trade Center. The party started at around 6 PM, sumptuos food was served, cool prizes were given away and ended with a "concert" featuring Hale and Bamboo ! Also, the party was hosted by none other than Miles from Magic 89.9.

As for me, I hitched with my friend's car (the whole team actually =P). The vehicle was so full that whenever we encounter bumps a "wooo" "ahhh" "nooo" was heard =)).

There was no doubt everyone in our table was expecting to win in the raffle, as every name called sounded kinda similar to our names =P. Who would not want to win cool prizes anyway =)

The grand finale of the party was the "concert" of bamboo !!! I was even given a task by one of our team mates to get a picture of bamboo himself with her k500i. Moving in to the crowd I started taking pictures, alas every picture ended up blurred... there was no time where the crowd was still.... I had to jump, sway with the crowd =P well at least it was fun... they even had to make the phone ring just to get the phone back =P

The party ended around 10 PM, a very fun and enjoyable party =D

Team Christmas Party

Our christmas party was supposed to be held on saturday, trip to Enchanted Kingdom then some activities there... however some of us were not available (guilty as charged =p) so we had to move it to another date, which after a series of surveys ended up today (It was so hard to pick a schedule where everyone was available =P).

After considering numerous suggestions we went to T.G.I.F (Thank God Its Friday) at a local mall. After dinner we distributed the last gifts for our Kris Kringle (organized by "big brother" Bernard), I received a stone coaster which had the following quote "Follow your dreams; for as you Dream so shall you become" (Nice). I also received two Paolo Coelho books (from my wishlist =D)

Speaking of gifts, I received numerous gifts today. First of all, I drank a starbucks Chocolate Afogato a gift for myself, then my officemate gave me a fruitcake, and last but not the least I received a golf umbrella and a jacket (cool =P)

After the Christmas party, we head on to timezone... played some games =D (its nice once in a while... but puts holes in my pocket... you know what i mean?)

My Favorite

Finally!! I've got my hands on the starbucks 2006 planner. It looks real cool, hard bound and the articles inside are nice =D There are also a few coupons inside to be used on specific dates of the year which gives you discounts. well it sure costs a lot too... 21 cups of coffee, not if you are a regular customer of starbucks of course =P So how did I complete the 21 stamps... heres what I did =D

1. I drank one cup of coffee or chocolate a day.
Believe it or not, this is the only thing you have to follow and you are sure to get the planner before December ends. (if you start now... then its too late of course =P)

2. Continue tip #1. You are sure to create a Starbucks craze in your office when you keep on drinking starbucks everyday, the more people who drink... the more stamps you get
3. Treat your family/friends to Starbucks. Since you would be spending money for 21 cups, why not share it with your friends, anyways its the Christmas season

Well thats probably what I did to get my Starbucks coffee planner. Gotta go to sleep now, I am very sleepy... I think my body is looking for that daily dose of caffeine I was introducing everyday for the past few days/weeks =D

Do I belong in this "picture"

The other day I saw my friend's yahoo messenger's display picture. He was with Heart Evangelista, a well known Filipino Actress.... photochopped of course =P So i thought.... why not create one for myself. With the cute and beautiful Jeon Ji Hyun perhaps? =D

I started scavenging for pictures of Ji Hyun from the internet and finally after a few hours of "googling" i've finally found one that suits me. The picture shows Ji Hyun and the leading male actor from Windstruck (dunno his name =P)

My photosession started immediately =P taking pictures of my self was not as easy as I thought... especially when I was trying to copy the original picture. After taking a few pics, i tried putting it on the picture... carelessly I ended up with a failed photoshop experiment =( see exhibit 2 at the bottom of this post =P

Fortunately, my friend gave me some tips including tilting my head a little =). So with a lot more effort I ended up with exhibit 1 at the top of this post =D Don't you think the picture looks perfect? =P (I won't post the original so you would not have anything to compare it to =P)

Through this exercise... i think i've learned something... I think sometimes in life we try to fit in this perfect "picture" we have in our head and yet we fail almost instantly. The reason being trying to force ourselves to fit this particular "picture" when clearly we are not ready.. your "picture" just does not fit. But with a little bit of tweaking, a little bit of effort, a little bit more time.. we MAY someday fit this perfect "picture" we want to have...

Korean Movie Marathon

Today instead of going out to the malls which I usually do, I opted to stay home to watch three korean films :D namely "White Valentine", "Il Mare", and "Wind Struck" and there is a common thing between the three movies... the lead actress is Jeon Ji Hyun (she is so cute and beautiful!)

I don't usually do this... watch movies because of the actor or actress... especially trying to watch every movie that actor/actress played a role in, but today I tried to do that. I liked "My Sassy Girl" so much and also because I saw Jeon Ji Hyun's commercial and thought she was really very very cute (this is the second time i'm saying this in this post =P)

I started watching "White Valentine" at around 12:00 PM, I watched this first because it was her debut movie... according to the filmography i saw online. Personally I did not like the movie... it was kinda boring but I did finish it... because Jeon Ji Hyun was so cute (third time mentioned in this post =P)

"Il Mare", drama movie was nice :D the story was about two people communicating through a "magical mailbox" the mailbox of "Il Mare". "Il Mare" is the house where both people lived... one in 1997 and one in 1999. I'm not gonna spoil all the fun by narrating the story, so why not try to rent a dvd and watch it =P

"Wind Struck", now most of you probably have already watched this movie. I liked this movie too... more than "Il Mare". This story is about a police woman and a teacher who falls in love. The ending makes it look like a prequel for "My Sassy Girl" but Jeon Ji Hyun was not drunk... =D (oops spoiler ! sorry bout that=D)

Ok, now i'm looking for someone who has a DVD of "The Uninvited". The only movie starring Jeon Ji Hyun which I have not watched.... anyone have it ? can I borrow ? please ? =P

Gotta rest now... got tired watching too many movies =P (collecting wall papers of you know who =P)

A movie in the promenade mall

Special holiday in the Philippines today, I went to the greenhills Promenade Mall to watch the "Exorcism of Emily Rose". I have not tried the cinemas there (that was before writing this post of course =P) and my parents were going to look around in greenhills so I went with them (No need to think about the transportation, I even save on transportation expenses =P)

We arrived late in the afternoon, so I went straight to Promenade mall got my tickets for "Exorcism of Emily Rose" and went to buy a cup of Frappucino (Collecting stamps for starbucks limited edition 2006 planner). The cinema was very nice, I liked the ambience of the Theater. The seats were very comfortable; they were soft, big (considering I am a huge man, kinda fat), and tall enough that I could comfortably lay my head on the seats. Temperature was very and I mean so very cold (I probably looked stupid wearing shorts and a cup of cold frappucino plus the airconditioning directly on top of me brrrr.. c.. ccc....oooold !!!)

Satisfied with the theater, I sat comfortably waiting for the film to start. People began filling up the theater and the trailers started playing. Some of the anticipated upcoming movies include: King Kong, Narnia (may be delayed because of Manila Film Fest =( ), then there is superman, ice age 2, and some other movies =D. Then the movie started (On time btw =P)

Exorcism of Emily Rose was a nice movie, scary. For me the most eerie part was to know that 3:00 am is the witching hour..... the reason? I usually wake up at 3 am before =S and that really is creepy !!!!!

After the movie. I got back to Unimart and went happily back home =), btw try promenade mall cinemas.... nice place.... reasonable prices =D

So much for diet !

I'm gaining weight again I believe, despite the fact that I'm trying to learn basketball and Capoeira dance... push ups everyday... the reason? week full of food !!! but hey, who's complainin' I'm not =P

Monday, we had our team building in Makati Shangrila's "Circles", and oh boy if you like buffet... I highly recommend trying it out. The food is great... chinese, Japanese, western food it's all there. For those who like desserts, there are a lot of different cakes, ice cream, "Halo Halo", fruits, crepe, and don't forget that chocolate fountain ! I ate like there was no tomorrow... brrrp EXCUSE ME =P

Thursday, was my officemate birthday. So he treat "palabok" for merienda... kinda early "merienda" @ 2 pm, it was delicious. Then apparently because it was the spirit of Christmas, another officemate bought a gallon of ice cream (half cheese, half double dutch) Yummy.

Friday, another officemate treat us. We had lunch in "Heaven and Eggs" located @ Glorietta. The reason? there was apparently no reason .... but I think it was for her promotion =) The food there was great, big servings, reasonable price ... and nice place too =)

So there it is a week full of food. I may have to loosen my belt next week (I hope not) better start my diet again and exercise 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 and another 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 =P.

Thanks guys for all the food this week ! I really enjoyed it !

Where is gateway mall ?

At last it was time for me to watch the much awaited movie "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire" (Don't worry no spoilers !, read on =P). The plan was to get to gateway mall, buy tickets for Cinema 10 (the one with lazy boy seats and unlimited popcorn and drinks) and enjoy the next two hours watching harry potter... but guess what... plans do change. =D

From Greenhills (greenhills because I had an appointment with a doctor earlier =D), Me and my friend Dennis started our journey to gateway mall... yes it was a journey because it was only my second time to go there and I had no idea how to go there ! actually i did get a few pointers from my Dad, but I was most probably out of my mind, preoccupied thinking of some things that I missed gateway mall and I had to do a billion u turns just to get back on track. So after wasting a few gallons of gas going around edsa (OH MY!!! GAS IS VERY EXPENSIVE these days!!!) we finally arrived.

Bad luck does not stop there, when we got to the ticket booths I thought I went to a market place... there was just too many people lining up for Harry Potter that I had no idea where to line up. Worst, the tickets for the lazy boy cinemas were all sold out =( so much for the two hours of luxury =(. well let's look at the bright side.. at least I was able to save 150 bucks =D

Then I "coincidentally" met my lovely friend and her cute sister. Actually I knew they were gonna watch the same movie that day, but did not know the exact time. So when I saw the looooooooooong line i offered to help them buy the tickets =)

So the movie started @ 7:30 and ended around 10:00 pm... i felt stupid afterwards because i think i was not even able to try to strike a conversation for that two hours =( (Jan is Bad , idiot ! =( )

Anyways the rest of the day is history (As if there was any day left it's like 10:00pm!! ~). The ride home was also... easy did not get lost anymore ! couldn't afford to get lost... (yawns!)

good night and thank you for reading this post =D

* bitchchecker (~java@euirc-61a2169c.dip.t-dialin.net) Quit (Ping timeout#)

What happened is clear: That guy entered his own IP-Adress in his mighty Hack-Tool and crashed his own PC. This way, the attack on my PC was a failure. I was already starting to think that I did not have to worry, but a good hacker never calls it a day. Two minutes later he returned.

|bitchchecker|dude be happy my pc crashed otherwise you'd be gone
|metanot|lol
|elch|bitchchecker: Then try hacking me again... I still have the same IP: 127.0.0.1

|bitchchecker|buy buy elch
*bitchchecker (~java@euirc-b5cd558e.dip.t-dialin.net) Quit (Ping timeout#)

There was a tension in the room... Would he manage, after these two failures, to crash my PC? I waited. Nothing happened. I felt relieve... Six minutes passed by until he prepared the next wave of attack. Being a Hacker, who usually cracks whole data centers, he knew what his problem was now.

He calls me girly and says only his grandma would use a firewall. I know that elder people are much more intelligent then younger, but I couldn't let that rest. To see whether he really is a good hacker I lie and let everything as it is. I don't have a firewall at all, only my router.

Qualities to look for in a partner

"Have you ever seen a Jade in it's raw form....? i'm guessing you haven't..." the speaker asked the audience in tonight's young professional fellowhip =) (Christina Arcayan Co). A Jade in its raw form looks just like a normal piece of rock, its not beautiful... it may be of any color, but to a trained eye.. a "discerning" eye this piece of rock is a treasure. =P

Similarly to find the qualities we are looking for in a partner, we need a discerning eye, and there's no better way to identify these traits by first applying these traits to ourselves. =)

The speaker has given some pointers on how to evaluate a persons character through his/her relationships and they are as follows: (btw, i believe i've also read these in "I kissed dating goodbye"
  1. Relationship toward Authorities
People who can't respect authorities, tend to not honor their spouse in marriage =)
  2. Relationship toward parents
You've probably heard the saying "how a man treats her mother is how he would treat his wife", there is some truth in this statement(Note the word "some" =P )
  3. Relationship toward the opposite sex
A man who moves like a butterfly from each woman to another will not change because of marriage =) (it's naive to think that way)
  4. Relationship to Companions
ever heard of the saying "When the character of a man is not clear to you, look at his friends"??

OK, this is not fun anymore. I've been relaying messages instead of writing my own experiences. oh well last quote and closing line "Don't worry about impressing the opposite sex, Instead strive to please and glorify God. Along the way you'll catch the attention of people with the same priorities."

Hustle while you wait

A few weeks back i've finally finished reading Joshua Harris' book "I Kissed Dating Goodbye" (known the book since high school but never read it =P). One of the topics discussed in the book was the gift of being a single...

Any season of singleness is a gift, it is a special time to prepare us for the next season of our life =) During this time we have an extra time to learn things, we have freedom to serve the Lord, and so on and so forth.

Josh used the phrase "hustle while you wait", it means to do something while you are waiting. Quoting from the book, "While we do not know the next step in our romantic relationships, we still have work to do. We have bad habits to get rid of, good habits to develop and character to build. let's hustle !"

Yes, yes let's hustle and so i've decided to do the following:
  1. Improve my relationship with the Lord =)
  2. Improve my character.
Confidence is a word not found in my dictionary... i wonder why? and that's probably something I should keep working on =)
  3. Practice some practical skills...
like COOKING !! it seems the only thing I know when it comes to food is eating =P (well I do know how to cook instant noodles, if that even counts for cooking =P)
  4. Of course the list goes on..... but i'll stop here =)

As of this writing.... this has been the Nth revision i've made. I dunno what's with me today, I started on trying to write a post regarding the "gift of being a single" and as I write ... and write... and write... I ended up with hustle while you wait... maybe this subject suits me more =).

BTW i've also watched "The 40 yr old virgin" today, not that great but worth a look if you've got nothing else to watch =D

Red Box Team Building

Second Karaoke team building =), this time we headed to Red Box Karaoke located at Greenbelt 3 Makati. We arrived at around 7 pm just in time for our reservation. (small world another team was also having their team building there =P)

The place was nice, mainly red coloured walls (but nice) =P. Dinner was first priority now, every one lined up the buffet table. Not much choices are available but enough (whos complaining ?? =P) The food was delicious ! I had some fish (it was boneless with pesto sauce), pasta, spicy porkchops (water please !) and a serving of salad as dessert (yummy =P)

Now that the stomach is taken care of, the singing started. We had a contest so everyone had to sing a song (with gift certificates as reward for the winner, judged by clapping of hands =) ). At the later part of the night came the attack of the boybands ! followed by the destructive(Dunno what word to use) rock music =P and the tonque twister rap songs.

I went home at around 11:00 PM.... and that's it nothing more ! i'm sleepy *YAWNS =D

Do as I command !!! =P

The other day i went looking for a new book to read and guess what i've found a gym !!!!! =P THE MIND GYM is a book with a interesting, nice green cover with a big bubble design in front.. (what happened to don't judge a book by its cover =P) The book aims help us get more of our brain =) and believe me I was able to use things i've learned from it tonight. =)

I got home late from work and went to take a quick shower, right after i quickly went to the other room to have a quick check of my personal email :) and there as I was about to enter the room I saw my father playing "wei qi" (or otherwise known as "Go"... still don't know what it is... check the web =P) on the computer. From the looks of it I was not having any chance of checking my email or even update my blog (as im doing now) =), however i remembered the chapter on influencing other people =P suddenly a devious smile came upon my face and started reasoning =P ... "Pa. it's almost midnight shouldn’t you be taking a bath now ??" bwahahaha =P

A sneaky advantage... a nice book... try it, you even get a free online membership wherein you could access more tools and resources, and btw the book is arranged ina way wherein you take up only things you need same as a physical gym =P

Young Professional Fellowship

After office I went to join Young Professional Fellowship in our church (United Evangelical Church of the Philippines). This was my first time attending and was nicely entertained by my friends from High School =)

I arrived at around 7:20 PM, dinner was served there. I've met some new friends and started filling up the bio data form =P. Today's topic was to live a debt free lifestyle by Dr. Andrew Liuson. Some thing which i'd like to share:

Cut Credit Cards. Yes I know most of you would tell me that you use credit cards but pay them on time, however it gives us a false sense of power. The other day I went shopping for a book and I used cash despite an advise from my friend to use my credit card. What a difference, after that I was unwilling to spend money to buy anything else since I knew i'll be over my budget. If I had used my Credit Card I'll probably continue spending =P

After that... what else... I went home... =P Have a nice day !

Keeping in touch

"I'll miss them" was the first thing that came into my mind this morning, that was upon knowing that some of my friends were leaving the country for "greener pastures" =P (they told me today... and they are leaving today =( ....speechless !!). "Its probably for the better" they say....true =)

I'd like to say kudos to all of you.. for being able to go out there and try your luck in a foreign country. I wish you all success... and hope to see you guys again.. someday soon. (i mean if we/you visit..... =P)

Thinking about it for a while, it shouldn't be much of a problem to keep in touch. Here are some ways I'd think of:

Email, Letters can be sent in an instant through email...FREE OF CHARGE and if that's not enough we have the dependable chat clients,Yahoo Messenger, MSN Messenger, Google Talk... you name it... i probably got it =P although sometimes you receive a message a day delayed =P (at least you still received the message =P ) and theres even VOIP (VOIP stands for Voice over internet protocol, it allows computer users to make telephone calls using a computer network ) =P

then again... nothing compares to meet friends personally... face to face =)

International Coastal Cleanup

Today, i've joined another volunteer service =) for a good cause =P. International Coastal Cleaup Day, (aww you missed it =P) is celebrated every third saturday of September in an effort to keep our beaches, lakes .... and so on =) clean! "This is an international event celebrated all over the world" as reiterated by the organizers =P Before the actual eventI thought I was gonna jump across the ledge into Manila Bay's shore.. guess i was wrong...

Upon arriving at the site, I immediately went to the shore and figured it was not gonna happen =(. Anyways, at least it was not raining anymore and it was not blazingly hot either. The event proper started at around 9 AM, with our free t-shirts on (yahooo free t-shirt) we started picking up the trash along Manila Bay.

Boy were the organizers right about the activity being an international event, schools and other organizations flooded the whole Manila bay (and where are we supposed to start picking up trash??? THEY'VE ALL BEEN PICKED UP!?!?... ok guess i'm just exaggerating.. there are still some trash here and there =P)

It probably took us around an hour to finish cleaning up, I was able to pick up a lot of cigarette butts, candy wrappers, barbecue sticks, "tansans", and a shoe ! Well i guess to prevent this from the future is to stop people from smoking there?... that would probably be a solution that'll solve two problems in one go... Less trash... and less smoke =P

The activity was successful in a way(yes we did reduce trash in Manila Bay... i hope :D), but i think there were a lot of things we could improve on next time around. (or so i think =P)
1. We have to bring in some nets, I think it's more important to scoop those trash down there...
2. Somebody organize a event for all to take part in??... there were a lot of other organizations around there and maybe if everybody talked first... we could split the area so we won't be cleaning and looking for trash in the same places...
3. ....... don't have anything to say anymore... can somebody help me fill a list of reasons here? (Achi? Sef? Grace? Glenda?) AHA!!! we encountered a Severity 1 problem FOOD WAS LATE !!!

So what's next after a hard morning's work? rest of course !! I went straight to (with Achi, Grace, and Glenda... although they went back to the office... did they??? =P)Makati, Greenbelt to catch a movie, "Cinderella man" great movie.. you should go watch it. After that I went on to greenhills, just in time for an appointment with my dermatologist =P whew !

Signature campaign: Haribon

Today i'm doing something for a good cause... save the Natural forests and mines in the Philippines =P by joining a signature campaign to stop illegal logging. Btw, the event is hosted by Haribon Foundation, it is a organization dedicated to conservation of the Philippine biodiversity. To know more about them visit their site (link on the title of this article =) )

As I was travelling home, I got my signature sheet, blank (each sheet should have 30 signatures), and started offering every person i've met on the road to sign it (of course i started looking for people I frequently met =P)... surprisingly no one turned me down... it must be real easy when you are doing something nice. of course there are still some people who would raise their eyebrows upon seeing a signature sheet... =P you'll just have to let them know you are not making some hocus pocus "thing" with that signature sheet =P

From this experience i've learned some things... some things which you probably would not learn any other way... and here they are:
1.) Sometimes it's easier to sell something to a stranger. why? because they wont ask too many questions, they'll just pick up a pen and sign on it =P
2.) Getting some peoples signature is probably a nice way to practice your sales skills. The paper somewhat acts as your product and the signature is the payment you get when you are able to successfully sell your product.
3.) It's nice talking to some new people ! maybe you already know this but i think i'm just beginning to like it =P. Beware though... sometimes some people just won't return a nice greeting.

Well that's probably about it... btw i've managed to collect 18 signatures 12 left for tomorrow =P also distributed some sheets to my sister... its easier to collect signatures in schools =P i think !

Crossing the river IQ game =)

Another flash game.. well this one will keep you busy guessing for the right combination (I hope =P) As a summary a family is lost in the woods, they met a policeman with a robber (striped shirt). Along their their journey they come across a river, which they need to pass through and the rules are as follow (mechanics =P)(i'm sure some of you have already heard this by mouth iq game... but it probably looks cute here so try it =P)

Mechanics:
1. There is a total of 8 persons who should cross the river. They are composed of the following
a. Father
b. Sons X 2
c. Mother
d. Daughter X 2
e. Policeman & Robber
2. Only the Father, Mother, and Police can drive the raft
3. The Sons cannot be left with the mother without their father, because the Mother will punish the Sons (dunno why though)
4. The daughters cannot be left with the father without their mother, because the Father will punish the Daughters
5. The Robber cannot be left to any member of the family because he'll escape (dunno why the police won't put the handcuffs on this guy though =P)
6. Only two persons are to ride the raft or it would sink
7. Good Luck!!! and God Bless !!

It took me around 30 minutes to solve this problem =( (a tad slow i think), anyways as a tip, don't be afraid to go around the raft as many times as you can.. theres no limit =P... If you still can't figure something out... ill give you some hints if you want... just post em below. Good day !

A new site under spaces.msn.com

Today I've actually finished moving my posts to spaces.msn.com... but i'm not gonna let go of my blogger account just yet.. The new site only contains links to this site and you'll still be reading whole posts here =)

The msn site has a lot of other features... it seems like an sts site. You could post pictures, list of books list of blogs and some other neat stuff =) But i'm probably not yet ready to leave my blogger site... i've already liked this site and i'm all familiar with it =)

Today is probably rest day, I went to church the whole morning.. went home got some sleep.. went out to eat .. rest for another few hours at home again... in other words i rested the today.

Wedding crashers.. all by myself..

Don't get me wrong, I do not crash weddings... even if I was with someone... (well maybe i'll reconsider if there's someone with me =P jks). Today I've went to watch wedding crashers in the theaters... starring Owen Wilson and Vince Vaughn. My theme song.. all by myself =( coz again... ill be watching a movie by myself =(

Anyways I still enjoyed the day, I woke up @ around 10 AM and took a bath. Went to rest and eat some food before I went out to the mall. I brought with me two cans of spuds potato chips which i've bought at a bargain price of 15 PHP per can =P I arrived there a few minutes... actually a few hours before the film starts... so I went walking around the mall.

I bought myself a footlong sandwich.. plus an iced tea... with my two cans of spuds.. I looked as if i'm going on a picnic inside the theater =P. I sat down at the fourth row.. sat back and relaxed. I started on the footlong sandwich, even before the film actually started i've already finished my sandwich and started on my spuds potato chips =P

The film was great and real funny (of course a lot of people suggested this movie). I'm not gonna tell you anything about the movie though... please go and watch it yourself =) I might spoil everything ... if i'd say something =). I went back home after the movie (after some more window shopping of course)

Team building Rockwell

It was postponed till today... it was originally scheduled wednesday last week, wall climbing somewhere in forgot the place... hehehe. but due to the rainy season... it was raining like mad... so it never push through... (we might slip you know... =P)

So it was originally postponed till wednesday this week... but still it never went through... there are currently two storms in Manila so you probably could imagine how strong were the winds and rains =). Till today, we have decided to scrap the wall climbing thing if it still kept on raining and go play bowling in Rockwell instead on friday=)

After office, we rode a cab to rockwell (others went on a car =P). after a few minutes of travel we arrived at rockwell and went directly straight to the bowling venue... (forgot the name... i think i'm gettin old forgetting everyone's names =P). That was when we discovered the lanes were occupied till 9PM... a tournament was on going.. so we went to have a sumptuous dinner at Shakey's first. We had some mojo potatoes... two pieces of pizza... a chicken... some spaghetti and salad (oops almost forgot ... a ... small cake... again.. forgot what it's called..=P)

At around 8:30PM we got two lanes, divided into two groups and started playing. I really don't know how to play bowling... in fact this is the second time i'm playing... and i've got to tell you... I scored the least.. in all three games... way way below the next lowest score =(.. i managed to pull one strike though =P at least =P

2nd Year anniversary working =)

I have not written anything for the past few weeks and i'm getting a little bit guilty =P (cause it says something i did today and yet I have not post anything... ,i've just said that did I =P). Anyways today is my second year anniversary working =) congratulations to my self !

Today, I would like to greet all fc8/11 group (2003) a happy second year anniversary working... fc8/11 by the way means Feeling Close August 11, it was a group name we created when we all first met in the orientation day, we created a mailing list... and we gather together sometimes... =).

I would say after working for 24 months... that it has been a pleasure working... while working I have met a lot of nice, great people... I have learned a lot of things... and..... i don't know other things to say =) (mimicking tv soap operas .... words just can't express blah blah ... hehe maybe it's true though.. cause i can't say anything =P)

And so what happens after these 24 months?.... my bond is finished... some say it's independence day... (yeah that is true... to some extent... i've never really felt tied... maybe i was enjoying what i was doing =))I guess i'll stay ... and continue to work on... and enjoy my work.

The Crimson Room

Today my friend Tina, has introduced me to this flash game she recently played online. It's not really some big mmorpg and yet it's real addictive (frustrating at times) and very time consuming... (if you don't know the answer that is!)

This game was created by Toshimitsu Takagi (and believe me I don't know who he is.... but since you read his name here... better start your research and tell me =P i'm a little bit lazy right now). You are trapped in this square room and your goal is to get out using objects/items which can be found laying all over the place. (don't understand why he can't just whack the door know off.... you basically do the same thing at the end of the game =P hey that's a tip... remember that =P)

It took me a few minutes..... actually hours playing this game. I even needed a little help from mr. google =P. As a tip, the game runs on how you click on the flash page... try to click on those corners, sides, different colored walls/floors. Try to move things repeatedly.... ok that's probably it... and if you can't get through the game.. simply post a question in the comments section and i'll be willing to divulge some information =P

P.S. You may also find a lot of guides online.... but I thought itll be nice to have some interaction in this page =P Have a nice day !

A day at "The Spa"

What a wonderful day. As the day progress my anticipation... the excitement... the curiosity... (a little bit afraid i may add.... actually really afraid :P). Have performed my homework too, i've asked my ever wonderful Big Sis =P, my friends... my parents... oops ! forgot to tell you i'm going to go to a spa today for a body massage :). This is the first time ever i'll be visiting one... and the reason why i've decided to try a massage is because I received a gift certificate a few months back.... which expires.... Today :P

Got there around 4 pm and got a schedule for 5 pm, the place was nice, really neat girls and boys are seperated into two different sections :). The first room is the locker room, people get dressed... actually undress here, an attendant is available to guide/help you all the way... (thanks to that guy... was always lost inside there :P)After undressing you are asked to take a shower, after which you may go in for a 15 minutes steam bath.. since this was my first time.. i might just as well go try everything there is.

And so i went in for the steam bath, the place was cloudy.. very cloudy, I actually thought I would go coughing inside.. but actually the menthol fragrace was really relaxing, as i went in the warmness enveloped me, sitting in one corner, naked (except for a towel) i closed my eyes, mimicking the other guy inside this smoky chamber :P sweat started to run out of my skin... without even doing anything... fast. After a few minutes, i stepped out of the room all sweaty, yet it felt nice :)

I was escorted to a waiting room, i sat on a nice sofa and poured myself some ginger tea waiting to be called. Before i forget (I know i already did :P) I'm already wearing a short plus a robe. After finishing my tea, I was escorted to the massage room, the room was dim and a relaxing music played in the background... and so it happened... the massage i mean :P

After an hour, i've moved back to the locker room, took a bath, got in my shirt, and dried my hair and away I went to the mall, relaxed :)

It was almost 7 PM and boy was I hungry. I had a nice dinner (alone :( ) in "Cafe Breton" located at Greenbelt 3, my friend, Tina suggested this place a few weeks.. months back and wasn't able to visit it till now. After dinner, I went shopping for a few more items (it was midnight madness sale anyways :P) before fetching my sister on my way home.

P.S. I did all this and cashed out a total of 170 PHP only. (I used GC's mostly :P Gift certificates)

Play SuDoKu

If there is one thing which kept me busy on my vacation then that would be SuDoKu, i've found puzzle in the newpaper sent everyday. It's such an entertaining, challenging game and yet you need not know any math tricks.. just pure logic and reasoning.

The game is real addictive, it probably consumed all my time trying to get my hair wet... you are presented with a square made up of 9 squares wherin each square is again made up of 9 squares. Some of the squares has number in it, and the goal is to fill up all squares such that every row, every column, and every 3x3 block contains the digits from 1 to 9

Try it, each puzzle should take from 10 to 30 minutes to solve.... (although i really think the first time i tried to solve it .... it took me more time :P) You could also look at the tips in http://www.sudoku.com/

Hong Kong Vacation Day 5

It was time to go home, after lunch and checking out of our room we had a final shopping spree ! buy food !!!! We bought some Porkchop rice from delicious kitchen, a few Orange juices (Mr. Juicy) and some "Taho" (delicious :P)

In the airport we checked in our luggages as usual, however this time our luggages were over weight (they ate too much during the trip :P). This is where you'll see how big Hong Kong International Airport is... I mean of the 20+ (i think maybe more) aisle you could check in your luggage... the Airport in the Philipines probably had only one Aisle. There were about a hundred boarding gates and if you happen to be boarding on the 100th ++ boarding gate you even have to take the train below the airport just to get there on time. (wow)

And so that probably sums up my five day trip to Hong Kong. Give me comments and suggestions I probably have left out something... so please do remind me :P

P.S. I received a nice text message from my friend Julie on HK airport.... Holiday on Monday. That means I even get to rest for 3 more days :P

Hong Kong Vacation Day 4

So it was officially the last day of shopping, I woke up around 10 AM and again went to mcdonalds for breakfast (I really like their breakfast here, dunno why :P) bought some DVD's (donald duck, CSI :P)

In the afternoon, I went to Sham Shui Po's Golden Arcade this place is full of computer related stuff, motherboards, processors, Optical Media Drives. I spent a few hours here before deciding to buy a Lite-On DVD Burner (1693s) for only 2,800 Philippine Pesos. That is soooo cheap compared to the prices here, an older model would cost me around 4000 Philippine Pesos. Bought a few chinese games too, one which my mom raises an eye when she sees me playing (a mahjong game, really want to learn this game :P)

And so we continued shopping till the sun went down, bought all those "pasalubong" and things. (not really something big... just some candies). I also bought 4 Giordano plain t-shirts, it is again cheaper (4 shirts for 700 Philippine pesos, while it costs 1000 Philippine pesos here for just 3 shirts)

We had a midnight dessert from "许留山", also packed up for getting ready for tomorrow's departure :P

Hong Kong Vacation Day 3

And so I woke up early today, went to McDonalds for my breakfast. I had an egg mcmuffin sandwich plus iced milk tea. (delicious!, also bought one of those cute Hello Kitty plushies... dunno what to do with them though :P)

If there is one thing I should learn whenever i visit Hong Kong is their time, I mean almost all shops open around 11:00 AM !! and going out 9:00 AM in the morning is somewhat early :P (Although I get to do window shopping, is good for the pocket :P)

I've went to see some DVD's today, in HMV. Looked at some PC parts, some geeky stuff... digicams. I am really planning to change my old reliable 6210 phone for the new Sony Ericsson K750i, but ill probably wait for the price to go down a little. Am also planning to buy Canon EOS 350D... want to learn photography :P, it's kinda cheaper here compared to the Philippines... however i'm thinking of the warranty so i'll probably buy one in the Philippines.

Have also visited Toys R Us, if you are looking for children's toys this is the place to go. I believe even some for those young at heart :P

Discovered a nice game today, "SuDoKu" i'll probably write another blog on this some other time. :)

Hong Kong Vacation Day 2

I woke up late today, probably because I was a little bit tired after the trip yesterday. Anyways, We went to delicious kitchen for lunch today, their Porkshop rice is so good here, not really fried, it was tasty covered in a red sauce. The rice had some vegetables and the overall taste was perfect !

The people who lived in Hong Kong was obviously wealthier, cars such as Audi, Porshe, BMW was a common sight (well of course good ol Toyota and other brands are here too... well i think they are... just an opinion...)

We went to the admiralty, we took the MTR. The MTR is probably the equivalent of the LRT/MRT here in the Philipines except it is underground and a lot of shops are scattered inside the MTR. I really liked their payment mode, you use a proximity card to pay for your travel fee... not the magnetic strip so you won't need to take the card off your wallet, you just let it pass.

In the evening, we watched a movie at the hotel (HBO, around... 11 PM?) and we had Kentucky Fried Chicken for late night snack. The KFC here btw does not have a ny gravy, I asked once and the lady looked shocked when I asked for one :P

What happened in Admiralty? shopping of course :P

Hong Kong Vacation Day 1

It was rather a cloudy day :), and yet hauling my luggages we went into the airport. As I stepped my foot in the airport .. my vacation started, a five day vacation :). Before going into the airport, some precautionary measures are to be done and these are scanning of luggages (including cellphones, probably because of the cellphone guns :) ), and passing through the metal detector (I set off a few beeps in the metal detector machine :P, removed almost every thing from my pockets... even my belt.. i was gettin a bit worried i'd have to remove my pants :P jokes)

AIRPORT
The first thing people do inside the airport is to check in the luggages, each luggage is measured to make sure you don't exceed the weight limit (we don't want the plane fallin now cause were a little overweight do we :P jks). This is also the time you get to choose your seat inside the plane (actually it's only a "do you prefer a window seat sir / madam ? =) )

After checking in luggages, you pay for the tax fee... yes you have to pay tax before you fly :). Then we go to the boarding gates awaiting boarding of the plane :) (you could go for some duty free shopping if you want to =))

PLANE
Our plane was i think a big one... despite the few passengers :). The whole plane was mostly deserted ... the whole middle aisle didn't have any people in them, even the window seats were not full... i think :P. As the plane began its flight to the sky (this is the part of the flight I hate most... takeoff... dunno why though :P) you get to see the ground in a bird's eye view... the mountains, the seas and the beautiful nature God has created... :)

So what do we do inside the plane? You may read the newspaper, flight attendants distribute newspapers once the plane has fairly stabilized (seatbelt sign is off :P), you may enjoy the inflight entertainment (some songs and tv shows), or you do what I do sleep or read a book :P. In a short while food will be served (yummy :P) You usually (actually always) have two choices, I chose the spareribs this time... DELICIOUS !!! I devoured it in a few minutes (My Aunt was only halfway though the main course... my plate was clean.. from appetizers to dessert :P)

It was a short flight... one and a half hour long and a few minutes after eating the plane began its descent to HK international airport. (Nice landing by the way... i almost didn't notice the plane has already landed :P.. we were even 10 minutes ahead of scheduled arrival time ...nice ! )

HK AIRPORT
All I can say is the airport in HK is gorgeous... compared to the Philippine airport this one is a giant. The airport is neat, well organized and there were candies in the immigration :P also shops like the disney store, aji ichiban is present.. (start shopping eh?) There are a few ways to get to the city from the airport (almost forgot ... HK airport is a bit far from the city) and they are:
1. Train
2. Bus (Hotel link)
3. I only know two :P

We took on the Hotel link.. the bus. As soon as I stepped out of the airport I realized.. "It was hot"... even hotter than the weather in the philippines. The bus ride was a 2 hour trip.. i slept most of the the time however i noticed a few things... HK drivers follow the road accordingly.. even if the road is full of traffic while the other road (which leads to another place was free, people don't switch lanes and try to get aheadof someone. (nice) However, the bus we rode on has a sign which states that the maximum speed for coach buses was only 70 kph... am not quite sure if our bus was overspeeding... it was always on the borderline whenever i made a quick glance to the speedometer... :P although i really felt it went faster sometimes... i felt.. :P

Hong Kong
And we got to our hotel, not much has changed since i last visited the place :) It's still the same way it has been ... except the 7/11 around the corner is missing that's a real waste.... I always thought that store was real convenient. We went on to shop for some basic needs like food, beverages.... and of course we started our shopping :).... well that probably sums up my first day in vacation !

Brownout....

This has not happened for a long time now... brownout. And it is really so irritating. I got home late (was not really busy just stayed in office cause i was waiting for someone.... ahem my parents =P) It was real hot at home.. i took a cool bath after eating dinner and sat there doing nothing (waiting for my hair to get dry, was realy sleepy)

I tried to sleep at around 10 PM, no good, it was really hot, the television was noisy (brownout with television?? ok i'm not lying there was some electricity... but was not enough all things working... ). I went looking far away from the window and i noticed something... we were the only building without any lights =( yes that's right cause the problem was with our building =(

At around 11 PM I was still running about, closing my eyes just didn't help... it was so hot and i feel like going to get another shower.. so i lie in bed, awake... went to the kitchen to get some water to drink... again went to lie on the bed.. still awake.

2 AM now.. I moved to the living room and slept on the sofa instead.. luckily it was a little bit cool there and was able to sleep for a few hours=) I woke up early morning... still no lights and started my day going into the office ( was in a hurry cause i woke up late... and it's a lot cooler in office =P)

Game of squares

Feeling a bit busy these days? a little bit boring i guess? well i think i got something which will somehow (i hope) get you relaxed =) It's a game i've seen while I was browsing the net, it's a little simple really but i think it's enough to keep you occupied (playing) for a few minutes =).

In this game (it's flash based by the way) you just have to dodge all the red items moving up and down left and right and pick up all the black boxes. (I won't go into the details of all the rules, you can read em there =P) it's a little bit addicting really, trying to beat the last score you achieved.

Ok I won't delay you now, go on and try to play the game. Let's try you beat my score (got a low score i think =P) i'll post it below

P.S. I think the best way to gain more score is to try to stay in the middle and get only the squares you could get while dodging the red items. Don't try to get all black squares since you'll probably bump into a red one doing that... just an advice really =)

fastest jeepney ever

Friday, again I went home late, and since it was late there were no FX.. even if there was i've felt i'd like to save a few bucks on transportation (i'm over spending on squidballs =P). I was expecting a long journey home, hot, alone, and a busy day... but i guessed wrong.....

I immediately jump on the first jeep going home (checked destination first of course =P), paid the fee, closed my eyes and started moving to sleeping position (as if there was any =P) after a few minutes the jeep went fast.... in fact really fast (this is not a medicine advertisement =P) my butt was sliding towards the guy beside me .. so i had to tighten my grip to prevent from further sliding.

The jeep started turning left... no it was turning right... no no, i think it was going everywhere... everywhere an opening presented itself the jeepneey almost immediately went through. I think it was the first time a car didn't stop moving this long long road.... (well of course it stopped to pick up additonal passengers =P)

It turned out to be a short ride home, exciting as i see how the jeep dodged every other car it passed through (without crashing on them of course), the wind was hitting my face and my travel time most probably cut in half (or maybe i'm just exaggerating =P).

A broken promise.... sorry

Sorry, that's probably the least I can do... (well of course not break it again =P) i've went to a place i've promised i won't go to unless really necessary. Well it was really necessary... there was no other way... no transportation that won't pass through there that day. (hope my alibi persuaded you =P)

Why was I forbidden (or prohibited?? anyways =P) from going to this place (by my big sis =) )? It's probably due to all the views concerning this place (dunno if they are true though =P ). The place has been known for people walking in skimpy outfits, dark streets, which some say is dangerous to walk in especially at night, pirated cds galore (mostly pornographic i think =P ) and other things ....

Anyways, this place has improved a lot recently, the place is now well lighted, a lot of people stay here making the place a lot comfortable to be in, small shops sprouted here and there..... and it is cleaner overall. =) I did not stay long here, knowing i was in a violation of a promise =P i moved off the street at the first available exit and went directly home =)

No to forwarded chain messages =)

Have you ever been forced to send an email just because you were forced to?? none?? oh come on... you gotta be kiddin me. =P well for me i have got to admit.. if my inbox has 20 new messages.... 18 of them are chain letters... and they are clogging my inbox, wasting my time, and... i dunno what to say =)

Well for me there are a few kinds of chain letters, i'll be enumerating them below =)

Help the poor guy chain letters
These are those despicable chain letters playing with everyone's feelings...emotiongs.. they say all those touching stories just to send all those chain letters to your friends. Sample include, if you send this email the boy something something will receive money from someone someone =P (dunno what to say)

Earn money chain letters
The chain letter for all those business minded people out there... but wait, you are making a fool of yourself sending all those crap where you'll be paid a few cents for every email sent. Yes, every email you sent cannot be possibly monitored... even if it can be... wake up... there's no such thing as easy money these days... =P (if there is... please tell me about it =P)

Funny chain letters
Now I have to admit of all those chain letters, this kind is the one which i like the most (well... yeah at least it makes me laugh.. =P) Thing is sometimes these chain letters have been forwarded so many times you won't be laughing when you pass through all those "forwarded message attached" text =P

You are doomed chain letters
This is practically the most disgusting chain letter of them all. You are forced to send an email because.. you might die... you'll have bad luck... you'll lose money... with all those disgusting pictures attached.. yuck!!. These are offensive letters which in my opinion should not be forwarded.. who would want to sent bad luck to your friends anyways ??!? (or maybe you were sending em to your enemy?? =P not a bad idea ! =P)

I'm misleading you chain letters
These are all those incorrect chain letters.. teaching everyone to be stupid... they have all those information which when looked up on the net turns out to be a bunch of crap... anyways.. always remember before forwarding an email be sure it has correct information. (i once got an email from a friend... showing me all the facts about an email i sent =P embarassing... do your research =P

Oh well, I guess that about sums up my opinion =P but before i close my post today. Ive included a nice, cool site. and don't forget to forward the site =P jks ! (it's real funny you might want to consider =P) ciao !

Today is Dennis's birthday

One of the big guys i know... (someone bigger than i am =P) He was not always that big, in fact, i was a lot taller than he is when we were younger... well maybe time really does change a lot of things =) One of my best buddies, also my neighbor (he lives a few blocks from our home. Is a tall guy (just mentioned that), intelligent (think so... hehe jks =P)and a nice person.

Have known this guy for quite a while now, has been my friend since high school, been a friend during those boy scout days. He was also the one bringing me to all those chinese chess competitions (care to have a rematch??), study tours in taiwan and beijing =) (I so very want to go back to Beijing =P). He is currently working at globe in Robinson's place, so if any one of you guys want that new Nokia or Sony Ericsson .. give him a call maybe a discount awaits =P Anyways, just wanted to greet you Happy Birthday and may you have many other birthdays to come. Wish you success in your future endeavors and May God Bless you !

Magic ?

While browsing through the net i've found this interesting title "magic" (was browsing friendster bulletin). The article was about a certain equation when you supply your birthday into the equation.. it will return your birthday. =) Being such a curious guy i've delve in to see where the secret/trick lies.... (don't believe this is magic... too simple i think =P)

First let me post the message below (precedence of signs does not apply here).

Take the number of the month you were born, x 4 + 13 x 25 - 200 +
the day you were born, x 2 - 40 x 50 + last 2 digits of
the year you were born - 10500. Notice anything? Try it
out...

courtesy of Tokers

Complicated eh?? =P To make things simpler i've replaced the words in the article to change it into a simpler equation =) (Now that looks much better =P )see below:

Month of BDAY * 4 + 13 * 25 - 200 +
Day of BDAY * 2 - 40 * 50 +
Year of BDAY - 10500

So after looking at the equation for a few minutes... (yes minutes only =P i'm that intelligent.. =P) something caught my eye. see highlighted text below

Month of BDAY * 4 + 13 * 25 - 200 +
Day of BDAY * 2 - 40 * 50 +
Year of BDAY - 10500

Looking at the highlighted text it is obvious that these 4 numbers create the whole equation as 4 * 25 = 100 and 2 * 50 = 100. Removing all the "annoying numbers" we get:

Month of BDay * 100 +
Day of BDay * 100 +
Year of BDay

Sample:
April 18, 1982
04 * 100 = 400 + 18 = 418 * 100 = 41800 + 82 = 41882

Now where did the annoying numbers went to you ask?? by supplying 0 to birthdate we get:

0*4+13*25-200+0*2-40*50+0-10500 = 0

Therefore those numbers were present, just there to make a simple equation look complicated =)

Thus problem solved =) it was no magic after all =P, ya ain't gonna trick this genius with those easy trick questions =P hehe jks !

My first bowling experience

Team building day wahooo. Everybody came in early to get ready for the team building. We choose to play bowling somewhere near our office with dinner at Max's fried chicken. Yummy, we had a chicken (of course max chicken what do you want to eat???), some noodles, lumpia shanghai, kare kare, Sinangag and caramel bar. Yummy yummy yummy!

After dinner, we went straight to Coronado lanes to play bowling =). It was my first time, and first thing we did was to rent bowling shoes... fortunately they had the biggest shoes i have ever seen, i took a size 12 and it fit perfectly (giants feet?? =P) one thing i liked about the shoes were you could open them up wide (my feet is wide =P)

Putting on the shoes was easy (what's that smell?? ,my own feet =P) and next was picking up the right bowling ball. There was not really that much balls to choose from... not there was a lot, and i mean a lot of ball sizes but i went straight to get a 10++ ball.... anything lower just won't fit in my fingers =P

And so after picking a heavy.. real heavy ball, i took my luck on the the bowling lane.. threw the ball and oh well beginner's luck just does not apply.. i threw the ball with a giant thud on the wooden lane (as in THUDDD!!!) and it slide slowly onto the gutter to give me a promising score of 0 =P (ready for children's league =P).

Fortunately with every try i made small improvements, even managed to make a few spare at the latter end of the team building =). oh well i just remembered we won in the last game... (the group were seperated into two) they were bettin on the food for friday's lunch.. maybe it was a joke.. maybe a trick.. but i won and that keeps me in a safe position.. no pressure no nothing =P (I had to win, i am such a cheapstake jks =P)

Well i can say i went home tired.. real tired.. my fingers can't even hold a pen properly.... (guess that's what happen when you try to throw the heaviest balls =P) It was a fun experience... and i smell food jks !

Return of the Momy & Popy dears

And yes, today my Mommy and Poppy dears will be coming back from their vacation (an exile from all the troubles eh? don't think so, vacation is not a word you'll find in my parent's dictionary =P ). A business trip then? nah... a business trip is to formal a word perhaps. They went on a trip, and that's it =P. no other questions asked ok? =P

Tuesday night, they were supposed to be back on 9:00 PM. Hey guess what, their plane was delayed till 12PM.. yes they arrived midnight... but before we get there that delay really caused me a ruckus of problems. and i'll be narrating that now.

10PM I disembarked (hehe dunno which word to use =P) on my voyage to fetch my parents, it was not a planned thing, because of the delay the driver had to go home 9:00 PM (he won't report in tommorrow if he goes home late =( ) and so I had to drive.

First problem occured just a few seconds after starting our car... clutch was a mess, you had to pump the clutch or else it won't work. I had to drive to the airport constantly kicking the clutch (yeah kicking, actually like pumping water out of a well =P)

Afraid i won't be able to switch gears i tried to take routes which required less stops this led to my second problem. I took diosdado macapagal highway, sure the drive was easy it took me less than 30 minutes to get to the end of roxas boulevard...(i was running at around 300mph??? hehehe jks am gonna get unfortunately i took a wrong turn and i was soon on my way to the provinces =(... Now I had to pass a toll gate, paid 30 bucks and went straight back on my way to the airport.

Fortunately, no problems happened when i fetched my parents and we were able to get home safely (got used to pumping water now... anyone need help with that deep well?? hehe =P) Got home at around 1:00 am and went straight to bed =P (too tired) =)

being a lazy bum =)

today is the day i try to be a lazy bum.. =) woke up 6 am in the mornin' and went back to bed.. getting up at around 10 am. Stayed in bed for a little bit longer and got up just to get something to eat. It's not like i'd like to be a lazy bum, but i'm sick today =) fever and cold (no, i'm not feeling cold.. i mean i have coughs and colds =P....) =).

it's been a long time since i've been like this =), constantly taking my temperature taking in medicine in timed intervals =). It's not fun, especially when you have not taken a bath for a few days now (yuck.... you smell like trash =P) Medicine tastes bad (have nothin to write... can't taste the medicine.. tablets =P)

with all my ranting here there are still a few good things from being a lazy bum.. sick.. =) First, I get to watch all those dvd's which i have planned to watch since last year =P, i've watched samurai x today, constantine and others just to name a few =P (did not have any problems with anyone disturbnig me, it's a monday everyone is either in skul or at work yeah !)

Another reason to be happy about is you get to sleep like there is no tommorrow. You lie in bed the whole day, gettin up only to get something to eat or drink (wow a real fast way to make that tummy bulge =P) you pretend to be asleep when somebody knocks on the door and still pretend you are sleeping when somebody calls (don't wanna pick up the phone eh? =P but actually i was the one to pick up every phone call today =) )

Ok and another reason to be happy about is..... I can't think of anything anymore... it's not like I don't have any other things to do.. but that's probably all i did for today. =) gotta go ciao !

Today is my Mom's Birthday

Today I've worn a red (actually pink =P ) long sleeves to work. Reason? It's my mom's birthday... and like my other posts.. I just want to say Happy Birthday and wish you many more to come ! I've greeted her today early morning before going to office...

8 hours passed and I was again on my way home, rode the bus and took the jeep. No I did not buy any gifts... did not have the time... (ok that was an alibi =P ), I think it's not really in the family to buy gifts during birthdays... it's probably something brought down... carried down through chinese tradition. =P Well may be this year i'll try and change that... just maybe... (i never said yes.. okay i'm making my point clear here =P )

I got home at around 9 pm, ate my dinner (with noodles =) chinese tradition) and that's probably it. =)

A Busy Father's Day

Nope, i'm no father (don't even have a girlfriend =P). Today is father's day, a rather busy day for me. Yeah yeah you think i'm bluffing but seriously I was busy and still am busy.... and is very very busy =P (Can't think of anything else.... I am busy =P)

Had to finish some work today, and no i'm not going into the details. oh well things have been going around my head lately (literally... can't you see i'm typing everything over and over again... =P)

Stayed at the computer the whole day, didn't even change from the clothes i slept in... taking breaks once in a while.... only stopped pounding on my computer when nature calls or to get something to eat =) (I'm such a workaholic =P, well i guess i'm starting to be one... =P).

Finished working at around 8 PM (just now)... was already wonderin' where we'll be going to eat, my parents and my sisters have went to the mall earlier and we have planned to meet somewhere there... it's gettin' late and I am hungry... wait.. just got their message gotta go. =) bye !

Watch "Batman Begins" great movie!

Today, I went to watch "Batman Begins". Am not really a big fan of Batman, however I would really recommend this movie to all of you... for me this has got to be by far, the greatest Batman movie ever ! =)... Now don't just listen to me... go out and watch the movie for yourselves.. (after reading my post of course =P)

Not too optimistic of gettin to watch the movie, ( I was denied to watch Starwars III 2 times, no tickets left ) I left the office at around 6:00 PM, took a cab this time instead of walking and luckily I was able to get my hands on those last few movie tickets Yehey !

I went to buy some food from Kentucky Fried Chicken (ummm i ordered 2 chicken fillet sanwiches and a go go sandwich, plus fries and a mineral water. I wasn't hungry ayt ! =P ). Went back and lined up to enter the cinema.

Settled for the seat 2nd nearest the screen (did not have any choice, the next seat was like forever and it was nice sittin near the screen =P). The movie was cool you get to know where batman came from, his history (title is "batman begins" ayt..? what do you expect =P). The script/stoy was terrific, Batman was real serious here unlike the other batman movies. Then there was this quote which i liked "It's not who you are underneath, but what you do that defines you."... i dunno why i liked it.... maybe someday i'll know... =). (what are you waiting for... already finished reading my post.. go get urselves a ticket and watch this movie !!!.. go go go now ! =P)

First aid class =)

Before starting, I would just like to point out that this post should not be used as a guide to perform first aid. Why? because I might be giving wrong instructions here and there plus i'm no professional in first aid.. just wanted to share what I learned from the first aid class. =)

Today I will be joining a first aid class (still trying to be a student eh ? =P). Again of the things i've really regret during my high school years is not joining any of the first aid clinics ( have i ever mentioned I was a boy scout for 4 yeara... so I should know some first aid ayt =P) ever offered. I don't know why i was interested in the course... maybe because of its practical use.. maybe it was because i thought it might be fun...?

Then End of day came (5:30) I left the office immediately, disregarded my friend's advise to bring an umbrella (the reason why I was soaking wet through out the class. =P so much for prevention =P) and got there just on time before the class starts. The class was real fun and I would like to encourage you all to attend this class=).

We covered I think seven topics and this included the following:

1. ABC's of first aid and CPR
The ABC's of first aid stands for Airway, Breathing and Circulation. I am not gonna explain the whole process as it is rather lenghty.. you may search for it your self =) (I just did there are a lot of em =) ). The thing to remember is to use the head tilt/chin lift to clear the airway, then use mouth to mouth resuscitation to give two breaths and perform CPR. (see! you don't perform mouth to mouth resuscitation immediately you know, so don't try to take advantage of the situation =P)

2. Choking
Next time you see someone claiming to be chocked yet is still able to talk... just watch him fix himself up =P. According to the instructor, as long as the person could still speak he/she could still cough that thing out. If you believe the person is really chocked, you should perform the heimlech maneuver (dunno if im spelling this right =P). Go over the back of the patient and hold put his hands down (always reassure the patient you are helping him... u don't wanna have someone start panicking) clench your fist and put it somewhere above the stomach... (dunno how to explain the position) and push and up to simulate coughing. When the patient turns blue ( not literally of course ), perform the ABC's of first aid... You may also sweep the person's throat when he/she is asleep (say good bye to your hand if the patient is still awake)

3. Burns
Contrary to populat belief, never use colgate on burns, this only worsens things. As always, use running water and soap. Another interesting thing is electrocution is only dangerous in high voltages (1000 voltage i think??.. so........ mad with your roomate?? is it safe to assume "the 110 volt electric plug could come in handy ?" =P joke ! of course not.... people getting electrocuted still suffer shock you know? =P )

4. Poisoning
Whenever a person is poisoned, try to poison to the hospital with the patient. Poison is treated several ways according to type of poison=). On Dog bites (rabies) immediately get yourself injected with anti rabies, also keep the dog with you (if I were u, ill throw that animal into the waste basket =P), if the dog dies within 14 days then chances are, you may be infected with rabies.

5. Dislocation
If you ever see a bone sticking out of someone's body don't ever .. and i mean ever try to but it back =P. When ever dislocation happens, the best thing to do is to splint the wound and bring the patient to the hospital.. seek medical assistance =) (or maybe if you are mad.. u could try putting the bone back joke ! =P)

6. Bleeding
The thing to do when someone is bleeding is to stop the bleeding (that absolutely made sense =P) and to do that the most basic tip is to apply pressure on the wound. Some other points discusssed in this topic is never pull any impaled objects off a wound, because that object might be the thing which prevents blood from gushing out of a person's body. also use alcohol and agua oxinada.. beside the wound only, these chemicals may destroy skin cells. =)

7. I cant remember ='(
As much as I would like to share all topics discussed...(WHAT!!! you don't wanna hear anymore of this crap =P) I really can't remember =P (must have amnesia =P). Anyways, if anyone of you still remembers the seventh topic could you please post them in the comments and i'll be happy to add it here =) (you may guess too =P) Thanks !

P.S. People doing first aid should always know their limitations and should always call emergency services. =) and before trying to help a person.... please ensure that the place is safe, there was once a time (story from the class =P) when one guy who went into a well fell unconscous... another man came saw what happened went in fell down unconscious.. there was almost 10 people inside when someone knew they had to call for help.

P.P.S. This post does not serve as any guide in first aid.. Heck I never even tried any of the things i've said above. So if you wanna learn first aid... go get a course from a pro =P

Joined Google Adsense

Today I've joined the google adsense program. I was looking around the internet to add something into my blog or something new and i've bumpt it. For those of you who don't know, Google adsense is a program which allows small publishers (like me) to display PPC advertisements on our websites. It helps publishers earn advertising revenue in a easy way.

Anyways, once i've learned about it, i thought it was a real interesting program, I will be able to earn revenue while still enjoying updating my site =P. I immediately read all things about it and even went to other sites on what they would say about the program =)

And so I joined the program, submitted a form and wished that my request will be approved. After a day, I received an email that my site was eligible to join the program. I was overjoyed that I started placing the ads (according to rules of course) into my site. If you are also intereted in joining the program you may look at the Google adsense homepage which i've put as link above =)

Am also looking into adding rss feeds ( i mean links to rss feeds to my site ) will be adding them soon =). (as of now, I have added Yahoo, MyMsn, NewsGator, Pluck and bloglines...=) )
