finally a rebound

It was in the last few minutes of the game, we had a reasonable lead in the game. Suddenly they let me in the court... tallest guy in the team... the biggest guy... BUT... I don't know how to play basketball ! =P

The other team went to the penalty line and I stand as one of the rebounders... then a miracle happened, I got the ball!!! lolz Maybe it was because they were all tired nobody wanted to get the ball so I was able to get it... at least I finally made a rebound =D

P.S. ... ive wrote this a month back.. just forgot to post it :D my my... well here you are.. did not update it anymore... cause its like soooo old a post :D

ban Da Vinci Code??

I sometimes can't understand why there is all this fuzz about "the Da Vinci Code". All different groups are calling for it to be banned, it was even set as an adults only film here in the Philippines.

Anyways, i've seen one unique reason why it is to be banned =P , please see clipping below... =D dunno where it came from though...

cute since 1982

I was joking around with some friends the other day when I changed my status to "cute since 1982", they started changing theirs to "loverboy since 1983", "Romantic since 1981" and a friend of mine even suggested I could change it to "adorable since 1982" or even "funny since 1982". (Thank you.. i never thought i made such a good impressiong =P)

Anyways, after that I wondered if I really was cute since 1982 =P and so I started rummaging through some old pics. Guess what, i really was cute =P (till now =P). I've always thought my mommy dears and auntie were just toying with me when they said I was the cutest little boy ... and look what happened to you now... (still cute I presume =P)

I loved the pic i've posted here, it was kinda funny... me holding flowers at that age.

P.S. The title should have been "will you be my special someone" but I thought it might be too cheesy. So I went with cute since 1982, I am cute right?... this is my blog so just agree with me ok? =P

i still can't believe he ran

I still can't believe he ran... maybe he was in a hurry... maybe he thought it was a competition... maybe i misunderstood him... but it sure was funny...

I was walking along Ayala Avenue this morning, the sun was shining and i'm late for work (again =P). Walking briskly down the underpass i saw a guy who was walking as fast as I was... shuffling my feet even quicker down the stairs, I managed to close the gap between us. both of us were walking briskly along side each other now, we moved from side to side to overtake other people... and at the end of the tunnel I swiftly made a right turn... marginally getting ahead of him, then the unexpected happened... HE RAN!!! lolz he actually ran just to get ahead of me =P

Still yawning, I let him be, there wasn't any trophies to be won, no competition. Perhaps the situation made him felt he were in a race... but I still can't believe he ran. =P

My Birthday!

Today is my birthday. Nothing special really happened... just got back from my vacation... and started working again =D Just wanted to drop by so you'd greet me a happy birthday =P

Hong Kong Disneyland!

I'm finally gonna get to meet donald duck in person!!!!! (my favorite disney character). The sun was scorching hot and oh boy how I wish I brought some sunblock with me =P

Getting off our bus from the parking lot, we had to walk around 15 minutes just to get to the main entrance of Disneyland (it's big huh =P), Our "tour guide" started distributing the tickets, which were cute... i choose the one with donald on it (of course =P)

Disneyland was like a city on itself, a magical city where you could get on all the cutesy rides (pooh!!!), some exciting (the thrilling "space mountain") and of course the 3d theater (starring Donald Duck =P).

There is a garden where all Disney characters await to take pictures with you (I only lined up for Donald... my parents, and sisters won't wait on the line :| ). My companions would rather go shopping on the souvenir shops scattered all around the place (all though i would say they really never bought anything in there =P)

At the end of the day, there was the fireworks presentation and we went back to our bus...

A whole month without posts

I haven't been updating my blog for about a month now, and seriously... i'm sorry, its really a shame my blog name is "something i did today" when i'm updating once a month =P.

Have been very busy lately, kinda busy... yes i think i was busy =P. As a summary, I have been for the last month:

• tinkering with my new phone.
  Yes, finally i have bought a new phone to replace my old, handy dandy, trusted nokia 6210. I've been using the phone for around 3-4 years now and i'd say it was well worth its money. If it was not for its broken power switch, its messy lcd, handful of scratches, and a 10% success rate of sending a text message i would not have changed it yet =P btw i replaced it with an N70 =D maybe ill write a review about it next time.
  


• writing articles =D
  I have been doing some writing gigs, small sidelines just for a change. The pay is not that big... but if you are interested... you may want to visit "www.seriousscribbles.com" =D and look for Jien


• Looking for a mall space
  Looking for a mall space for a franchise, May be you could recommend one ? =D... me and some of my friends have been planning to franchise this ... better keep my mouth shut first =D... for no reason =D ...


• watching movies, dvds and television
  Yeah, yeah. watched all sorts of film. Munich, Fearless, CSI, etc. I have also tried the Lazy boy Cinemas in Gateway Mall =D cozy... very nice place... with double the normal theater rate :|

Valentines Day !

Valentine's day... for a brief history... click on the link =D tired of copy and pasting. As I walked into the office today... there is one common sight, flowers =D people go home early to be with their family... some have dates... some don't =D

Today for the first time in my life, I did sent someone flowers =P ... details of it ... I won't tell ... =P don't even bother askin'

At night I watched the beautiful full moon. The moon was round, very round indeed. It was beautiful how it provided light to the dark sky. Even though sometimes it was covered by the darkness, it would still resurface shining brightly than ever.

I had a date with some kids at our penthouse. After staring at the moon alone, I saw some kids playing chinese chess so I decided to join them... as an audience. However after a few minutes, the other kid insisted on me playing for him, being an obedient guy I took the offer and showed them how this game is played =P

It's nice to play with kids... they ask the most unsual questions... they don't wanna admit lose... they run around chasing each other without any problems... nothing to think of... Plus ther are real real cute !!!

Well that's how my valentine went, how did yours go ? =D

No time for love ?

My first time to one (Defensive !!! =P). Frankly I have no idea what a valentine's party would be... some say there'd be games... some say it's speed dating, some say it's another thing... with all the contradicting information I got... why not just go and see for myself =D

"No time for love ?" We arrived at the place, registered and have some food... and another round... and another one... there was a lot of food because only a few registered for the event... maybe everyone already had their own dates ? =D

After dinner, we had some games... they were:
1. Find your other half heart. At the registration booth we were given a piece of half heart... then a few more afterwards =P The objective of the game is be one of the first to find your partner, I did not bother to look, I had like 5 half hearts =D
2. Trip to Jerusalem. Modified version, instead of people sitting on chairs, the guys were asked to put wine bottles between their legs and the ladies would put their fingers inside the bottles once the music stops. I didn't join either
3. Suck and blow... Two groups were created and lined up according to the number we've drawn ("we" because I did join this game =P). The objective was to pass the cards using the mouth only (it looks as if you are kissing when passing the cards). I was in between a guy and a gurl... at times the cards blow off and you'd almost kiss the other person =D
4. Search for a partner The grand finale, A guy and a gurl gets blindfolded while 3 applicants say fiery words to get the searchers attention. =P

after the games, the floor was opened for dances and I still had with me a huge stack of drink stubs. I went home after =D Now I know what a valentine's party is !

It stings...

Somebody sent me a short story today... through a text message... and somehow I liked it... (nakakarelate ??!! =P)

There was a man who saw a scorpion floundering around in the water. He decided to save it by stretching out his finger, but the scorpion stung him. The man still tried to get the scorpion out of the water, but the scorpion stung him again. Another man nearby told him to stop saving the scorpion. But the man said "Its the nature of the scorpion to sting. Its my nature to love, why should I give up my nature to love just because its the nature of the scorpion to sting?"

Moral Lesson:Don't give up loving, don't give up your goodness, even if the people around you, sting.....

Nice Haircut !

A day before Chinese New Year... I had to have my hair trimmed (chinese tradition =P)But I did not want to walk far today... kinda lazy, so I decided to try the newly opened hair salon just around the corner.

The owner of the hair salon was a chinese who just came here in the Philippines, the salon was just built inside a residential house =D

Place was nice, cool (air conditioned), and well designed (it really looks like a parlor). I was asked to sit down and the owner started cutting my hair. After a few minutes (I did not even have the chance to take a short nap) she was done.. this is the fastest haircut I have ever had.

I went to wash my hair, and then paid the owner. Left the place, after saying my greetings "恭喜"

The haircut was nicely done ... I don't look stupid right... =D

my "Piggy Bank"

I have this big "Piggy Bank", coca cola shaped... bottle (stands up to my knees). Its pretty old and I thought how about filling it up with coins. So I started putting in 10 peso, 5 peso and even 20 peso bills on it.

After a while, I decided to take back the money... because of the following reasons:

1. A lot of money displayed is not a very good thing... i think...
2. Money inside the "Piggy Bank" won't grow any interest, who would not want to have that extra interest from the bank.
3. I kinda look like a kid putting coins inside this "Piggy Bank" =D

Anyways, since I have regret putting in the money inside I started prying on the bottle cap, and guess what... it won't open =( I spent practically 2 hours pulling, pushing, etc. (nice workout though... I sweat a lot =D) I even got my fingers cut =(

Finally a great idea came into mind.. since the bottle was huge, it also had a big hole at top. So I used a pair of pliers to remove each coin inside =P and finally, got the money back.

Today is Grand Ma's Birthday

Happy Birthday Grand Ma. Today, we ate at a local restaurant to celebrate her birthday, it also served as a time to get together within the family. Time really moves fast, my cousins were with their boy/girl friends now, some were even with their wife and children... goals have changed... priorities renewed =D

BTW, my grand ma is 90 years old now... but don't be fooled by that number... she'll still kick your ass when you do something stupid =P ... i'm out of words today.... =D Post finished !!!

Dinner with Achi Jack, Hiram Bro, Allan

This dinner has been planned a long long long long loooooong time ago, and finally.. it has been realized =D The idea came from Hiram Bro (Bro cause he calls Achi... Achi too ! there is yet another brother left to be found... wonder who he is... or maybe its a she =P)

The four of us met at Achi's office, before going straight to Sbarro. We chat along the way, made jokes, spilled some secrets (was there any? =P) and of course ate dinner. We also took some pictures.... however i can't post em here... because i'll surely be in big trouble if I do so =P

This was a great day. I hope we'll have dinner together again soon =D or perhaps an activity would be nice. =D
